The Ronald McDonald House at Alder Hey is in the grounds of the world famous Alder Hey Children's Hospital located on the Wirral. The house opened in 1993 with just 26 family rooms, funding of £1.5 million came from Ronald McDonald Children's Charities and the Hospital 6 years ago the house grew to 30 rooms and then in 2005 to 69 rooms. This followed the building of a £2.2 million annexe with monies donated from Ronald McDonald Children's Charities

Stephanie Moore MBE established the Bobby Moore Fund, in partnership with Cancer Research UK, in 1993. The Fund was set up in memory of Stephanie's late husband, footballer Bobby Moore OBE, who sadly died from bowel cancer, aged just 51. Our research into bowel cancer The Bobby Moore Fund raises money for research into bowel cancer and also public awareness of the disease. To date the Bobby Moore Fund has raised over £12 million for dedicated bowel cancer research. The funds are spent on high-quality bowel cancer research carried out by leading scientists working across the UK. The money raised to date has funded over 36 Bobby Moore Research Fellowships and three additional research projects.
