Hugh Jones
Hugh Jones, aged 26 from Marford. I’m the youngster if the group but it’s a sad fact that all the other lad’s look up to me as a role model despite me being several years younger than them all! Over the years we have shared a lot of experiences together, normally holidaying many miles away or drinking in the local, the only negative experience I have had with any of them was at a young age when i was attacked by Wyn with a tennis racket!! This however is our most daunting adventure to date (Kev would disagree and say the annual Xmas eve fancy dress outfit decision is more daunting)
This is a great cause and unfortunately it is a cause that will in one way or another affect every person who reads this, so by helping us raise money you are also benefiting yourselves and your families. This challenge is a going to take a lot of effort and use muscles we didn’t know we had, or in Ants case don’t have!! There is a lot of pressure on myself and Wyn, to emulate our fathers walking capabilities, but completing the challenge within the allocated time is my target. Wyn will pretend it’s easy, but be in crying inside I guarantee!!
Although we are a close group of friends and will have some good banter on the way (Wyn won’t understand most of the gags though) this takes nothing away from what we are attempting to do, and hopefully go some way towards improving awareness and benefiting people who require the help of these charities. The walking is going to be hard work, but the heights of Scafell will not be as daunting as Russell’s driving.
Please give generously this is a much harder challenge than it seems; ask anyone that has done it. I guarantee we will have stories that will last us a lifetime after this, so please donate and Russell and Kev will tell you them all. - Many Thanks, Hugh Jones
